Summer is here (finally) and it’s important that your car is prepared for any spur of the moment road trips. Before you hit the road ensure that your vehicle is up for the task of driving through the heat and humidity. Whether you’re driving across the country or just a small distance, try these tips to make sure your car is prepared for the next adventure.
Inspect Your Vehicle
Check that your wiper blades are in good condition and aren’t cracked or squeaking. Inspect your tired for any bulges, cracks, or foreign objects that may have penetrated the rubber. Check the pressure on all of your tires, including the spare. Take your vehicle to get the battery tested to ensure it will survive the season.
Pack an Emergency Kit
An emergency kit is a must-have in every vehicle but it is especially important to stock it up before a road trip. Ensure that you have a first aid kit, reflective warning triangles, drinking water, a flashlight, tow rope, a working jack, and non-perishable snacks on hand.
Since you’re going on a road trip, your insurance becomes even more important. Talk to your insurer about your coverage, be sure that you know what coverage is excluded, and bump up your coverage for peace of mind that you’re protected throughout your journey.
